• Leadership Expectations Model (LEM). This model defines the expected behavior of all Johnson Controls employees — and our key business and people processes — in support of our vision, values and goals. We use it to recruit and interview job candidates, direct employee development programs, guide supervisor skill-building programs and support behavioral assessment worldwide.
• Business Resource Groups. These groups consist of employees with similar backgrounds, experiences or characteristics who share a common interest in professional development, improving corporate culture and achieving business results.
• Learning and development resources. We offer an array of learning courses and programs for employees all over the world, as well as leadership development programs for potential senior-level talent across the company.

In 1985 we created an annual, global Chairman’s Award program to recognize the accomplishments of our people. Individuals and teams from around the world are nominated for their outstanding achievements in alignment with our vision, mission, and values. From more than 1,000 annual nominations, a small group is chosen to receive the awards.
