Brendon Matusch won the Canada-Wide Science Fair 2018 Best Project with an autonomous g-cart. It drives on Canadian public roads and follows lanes. It uses a CAN bus like real cars, and has a LIDAR, as well as a vision camera with its own stabilizing gimbal. He created a 3D simulation to train the software, which was an end-to-end convolutional neural network.

This video apparently has no sound (he added text to the screen to explain it) so add your own soundtrack.
