User interface changes
- The Office 2010 user interface introduced a new File tab, which replaced the Microsoft Office Button from Office 2007.
- The Office Backstage view provides quick access to common file management tasks—view file properties, set permissions, and share your presentations.
Design enhancements
- Artistic effects let you make pictures look like sketches or paintings—including Pencil Sketch, Line Drawing, Chalk Sketch, Watercolor Sponge, Glass, Plastic Wrap, Glow Edges, and Paint Strokes.
- The Merge and Compare feature lets you compare your current presentation with another one and combine them instantly.
- SmartArt graphic picture layouts let you tell your story with pictures, and fluid slide transitions help grab the attention of your audience.
Improved navigation and sharing
- Labeling and grouping your slides into sections in PowerPoint 2010 make it easier to navigate large slide decks and collaborate with others on presentations.
- Audio and video files are embedded directly into presentations, making them more portable for sharing. No more missing video files as you move your presentations around.
- Turning presentations into videos became a new way to distribute and deliver them in PowerPoint 2010. Save your presentation as a video file to share it as an email attachment, on the web, or on a DVD.
