This is going to get very old very quickly if every new post has a dozen people complaining about Kendrick being repeated or how he should’ve chosen your favorite album instead.
DAMN. is an insane project from quite possibly the best album artist of our lifetime. Maybe Cole has read a bunch of reviews or analyses that miss the mark, that don’t fully break down the forwards/backwards playability or the complex themes involved. Imagine Cole’s structural analysis breaking down both directions of this album and pairs of songs that clearly play off each other (LOVE-LUST, HUMBLE-PRIDE).
Cole started this as a passion project and we’re lucky enough it’s become so popular and so many people get to enjoy it. He dove into Frank Ocean’s work because so many fans begged him to. But Kendrick was clearly his initial motivation, and this guy does innumerable hours of research for the fan’s enjoyment. We should be nothing but excited and thankful.
Do you guys think it’s possible/would be intresting if Cole did a mini season on some rap songs or maybe I don’t like shit I don’t go outside. Personally Earl is my favorite rapper and these are two of my favorite projects ever, would you guys be interested in a season on Earl and do you think it’s possible?
Since the immediate future of the sub is going to be posts about the clues, I’d like to pose a question to the group.
Imagine a world where Cole Cuchna’s Dissect podcast was about film. What movies would you want dissected?
It's fuckin good
