Our core practices
Core practices are the policies and practices journals and publishers need, to reach the highest standards in publication ethics. We include cases with advice, guidance for day-to-day practice, education modules and events on topical issues, to support journals and publishers fulfil their policies.
Guidance & discussion
The new COPE diversity and inclusivity discussion document begins a process of addressing the wide range of themes, challenges and changes required to establish a more inclusive and diverse scholarly publishing community. COPE welcomes comments which add to the ongoing debate.
In this seminar session we hear the speakers' experiences of creating representative editorial boards, diversity data collection, and managing allegations of discriminatory behaviour.
The impact of discriminatory practices in editorial processes and peer review, promoting of social justice and equality, best practices around identity and name changes, and the issue of historical offensive content.
