New flowcharts from the COPE and FORCE11 Research Data Publishing Ethics Working Group. The flowcharts are practical step by step guides for journals and data repositories who are handling ethical concerns relating to data publication.

Core practices are the policies and practices journals and publishers need, to reach the highest standards in publication ethics. We include cases with advice, guidance for day-to-day practice, education modules and events on topical issues, to support journals and publishers fulfil their policies.

COPE's position statement on Authorship and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT, states that AI tools should not be listed as an author as they cannot take responsibility for submitted work, and their use should be fully transparent
