One of the strongest themes in tourism research over the past few years has been sustainability. In fact, a review of highly cited publications found that "sustainable tourism", "tourism" and "COVID-19" were among the most frequently occurring keywords between 2017 and 2022. With that in mind, we're beginning our summer reading series with a closer look at how research on tourism continues to evolve. 📖 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮: 𝘈 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘴𝘪𝘴 Published in the 𝘌𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘛𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘮, 𝘏𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. https://lnkd.in/d2SU2U6e Isabel Loureiro, Vânia Costa and Alexandra Malheiro examine how research on sustainable tourism has developed over time, highlighting the topics that have received the most attention and how priorities shifted following the pandemic. It's an interesting perspective on how tourism research continues to evolve in response to changing environmental, social, and economic priorities. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to avoid conversations about artificial intelligence — even, or perhaps especially, when the topic is still very human. Today, we’re taking a closer look at how people experience learning with AI-powered tools differently. 📖 𝘐𝘴 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘐-𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦? 𝘈 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘖𝘶𝘵𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 https://lnkd.in/en4RgRtY Published by ]u[ Ubiquity In their research, Katharina Frosch, Friederike Hanna Lindauer, and Dr. Carmen Winkel explore how different learning preferences influence experiences with AI-based communication training. One of the more interesting findings is that participants who preferred observation and direct feedback benefited less from chatbot-based learning, while more intrinsically motivated and systematic learners reported higher satisfaction and stronger skill development. It’s a thoughtful reminder that even when technologies promise more personalised learning, people may still experience these environments very differently. The publication is available in open access on the reference-global.com platform. #ResearchConversations #Psychology #EducationResearch #AIResearch

This month, we’re starting a short series around psychology, creativity, and the way people think, learn, and work together. Many people associate creativity with ideas. This research suggests it may begin earlier with attention, listening, and perspective. 📖 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯-𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 https://lnkd.in/eAAYAzen Based on interviews with HCI professionals, Hye Jeong Park and Jae Hwa Lee look at how empathy shapes creative work in practice, influencing everything from problem-solving to decision-making and collaboration. What stands out is how often participants described creativity as something deeply connected to understanding people rather than simply generating ideas. It’s an interesting perspective at a time when many conversations around creativity focus mostly on speed, productivity, and technology. Perhaps creativity is not only about generating new ideas, but also about noticing what others experience, need, or struggle to express. Let us know what you think! 💬 #ResearchConversations #Psychology #Creativity #CommunicationStudies
