On this day in 2013 Nelson Mandela passed away. Mandela not only changed South Africa’s history, he changed the world and made it a better place. He taught us all a lesson on the power of peace and reconciliation, the importance of forgiveness, and respect for the dignity of each and every human being. The greatest tribute we can offer, is to carry on his message of hope and to continue his fierce defense of the values he stood for.

Nelson Mandela won in 1991 the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize from UNESCO and was appointed a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 2005 in recognition of his extraordinary fight against apartheid in South Africa.

#OnThisDay   - 3 December 2018 - Albert Frère the richest man in #Belgium   died. He had lots of interesting functions, he was inter alia the governor of the National Bank of Belgium (see picture).
